WE ARE ON A MISSION TO RAISE $10,000 FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA & OTHER WORTHY CAUSES...

For every referral we receive, we donate a portion of our income to SkateMD Healing Hearts. Skate MD Healing Hearts through skateboarding provides a safe, accepting environment, positive interaction, and exercise with a special attention to the individual's needs through their FREE clinics throughout the Sacramento region.

Skate MD does great work in helping kids with Autism and at-risk children and youth that face development, physical, emotional or family challenge with the empowerment of exercise, positive interaction, and fun while increasing tolerance, compassion, and support within the community.  Skate MD is able to provide one-on-one skateboard clinics in an accepting environment for children ages 5-17 to experiment with skateboarding, to fine-tune existing skateboarding skills or to just have fun, with a special attention to the individual needs of their participants. BUT all this survives on Sponsorships and Donations.

BY THE NUMBERS

• In 2004 it was estimated that children with Autism prevalence were 1 in 166 children.
• As of April 2018, the CDC now estimates that 1 in 59 children have the prevalence of Autism.  This is up 15% from just two years ago when 1 in 68 children was estimated to with Autism Prevalence.
  • 1 in 37 boys
  • 1 in 151 girls
• Boys are four times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls.
• Autism affects all ethnic and socioeconomic groups.
• Early intervention affords the best opportunity to support healthy development and deliver benefits across the lifespan.

Families often struggle to support all the emotional and physical needs of their children associated with Autism.  SkateMD Healing Hearts serve children who may not otherwise be able to pursue skateboarding or other physical activities, don't have easy access to skateboard equipment or facilities, and/or who just need some extra kindness in their lives.
